PRITI A. CHOUDHRY

Board Member
Priti has served on the Board of Operation Blessing India since 2014, leading programs in clean water, health and education across India. She has worked extensively with partners at the grass root level to reimagine development with them. She believes that while we may not be able to help everyone, for those we can help we must dare to dream big. Notable amongst programs she has initiated, is The Tree of Life Medical Clinics, to give excellent medical care to the needy in urban slum areas. Disasters in Nepal, Kerala, Orissa and more recently in West Bengal had her leading from the front with Operation Blessing India providing much needed relief and restoration of livelihood. Read bio

PRABODH BHAMBAL

Board Member
Prabodh has over 25 years of experience in the development sector. Working in both international and national level organizations, he managed over 200 projects across almost 100 countries, established legal entities in various countries, has developed strategic plans and mentored and hired senior staff from multi-cultural setting across several countries. Prabodh has led fund raising efforts with both institutional and private donors, structured innovative financing mechanism such as social impact bonds and has been a faculty member to train health care staff on finance and budget management. DR SHIREEN MATHEW

Board Member
Dr Shireen Mathew has been on service in the medical field for more than 25 years. She comes from a family of doctors and had a keen interest in medicine even while schooling at the Wynberg Allen School, Mussorie. She has the experience of serving in the capital of India at the G B Pant Hospital as well as in rural outposts like Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Shireen is well versed with the challenges and opportunities of the health care system in India. She is currently working as a Consultant in Critical Care & Cardiac Anaesthesia in Kailash Hospital & Heart Institute, Delhi-NCR. Read bio

A FAMILY’S CRY FOR HELP
DEOGARH DISTRICT, JHARKHAND – Meet Dular Murmu, a 30-year-old woman from Pandanatan village of the Deogarh district in Jharkhand, India. She belongs to the Santhal tribe, the third largest tribe in India. The occupation of the Santhals revolves around the forests in which they reside. Their basic needs are fulfilled from trees and plants of the forests. They are also engaged in hunting, fishing and cultivation for their livelihood. Dular lives with her husband and three children. Her husband works as a daily wage labourer. Her family became an outcast in the village due to caste issue and were prohibited to fetch water from the community wells. ​
