MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA – Meet Dulari, a homemaker who was suddenly left handicapped, unable to perform any of her tasks efficiently. With barely enough money for meals, her future seemed bleak and dismal.

Life Can Change in a Split Second

One wrong turn and Dulari’s saree caught fire as she cooked her meal over an open flame; her life changed completely in that split second. Thankfully, her husband came to her rescue, helped put out the fire, and rushed her to the hospital. But the fire had done incredible damage in that short span of time. Dulari’s back and legs sustained severe burn injuries which left her bed-ridden for nine months.

Functioning Normally Turned in to a Pipe Dream

The hope of walking, sitting, or even simple movement was vanishing fast for Dulari. The only option was surgery which she and her husband could not afford. Life became a nightmare as Dulari’s condition continued to worsen; the skin on her legs was shrinking, restricting whatever little movement was left. She was mocked by the community she lived in which added to her trauma, and there was no hope of receiving any help from anyone. Then they heard of Operation Blessing and compassionate partners like you.

Turning A Dream in to Reality

Generous partners like YOU made it possible for Operation Blessing to change Dulari’s life around! With successful multiple surgeries, Dulari can finally walk normally. Simple tasks like shopping for groceries and carrying bags, which were once just a dream are now reality for Dulari. “I will forever be grateful to everyone who helped me get better. Thank you so much!”, says Dulari cheerfully. Incredible partners like YOU are the reason Dulari can function normally and dream about a bright future!
