Operation Blessing India Founded on November 14, 1978, Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation is a nonprofit, humanitarian organization that provides short-term medical aid, disaster relief and assistance to people in need around the world. Operation Blessing International was originally set up to help struggling individuals and families meet their needs through the involvement of the viewers of "The 700 Club", a daily television program of CBN. Since its inception in 1998 Operation Blessing India began humanitarian activities in India to make difference in the lives of the poor and needy. Operation Blessing India (OBI) is committed to provide hope and comfort to the needy. Since then Operation Blessing India has touched more than one million people by providing medical care, bore-wells and by organizing literacy programmes in slum areas. When disasters strike, OBI is often one of the first organizations on the ground to provide and facilitate emergency relief assistance to those in urgent need of food, shelter, and medical care. OBI has been working at improving the quality of life of the undeserved and discriminated people living in remote and inaccessible villages in our country. Operation Blessing India Health care treated 47,58,610 people in 11,606 camps, from the beginning providing for General, Eye and Dental treatment. 1,72,694 Eye glasses were given to the needy people. 18754 Cataract surgeries done. From the beginning till now Operation Blessing India performed 650 cleft lip/cleft palate surgeries in India. *50,974 people were treated.
Every month 1401 above HIV positive patients were given free medicines and counseling. Also, the malnourished were provided with Nutritional kits and supplements. OBI is helping *2043 children of the lower socio-economic sections in *17 Vidya Jyothi Centers, *4 Orphan Homes, *1 Day Care Ceneter. Through the Back to School Programme, no of kids send to school 1976. From 1999 OBI Wheel Chair project 790 Wheel chairs have been distributed among those who are needy. till September 2011
One village at a time, the ‘Living Waters Project’ of Operation Blessing India has drilled 6,251 bore wells all across India benefiting more than 20,73,720 people till October 2011.
