Alemmongla is a 46 years skilled man who belongs to the village called Sungratsu, which is situated in north of Nagaland in mokokchung district.

Alemmongla is a 46 years skilled man who belongs to the village called Sungratsu, which is situated in north of Nagaland in mokokchung district. He lost his father when he was eight years old; he has four brothers and one sister. He belongs to Ao tribe basically these tribes are good in agricultural hill forming. From his childhood he had an interest in painting and carving stone which became his profession. While he was growing he improved his skills seeing the local people which use to give him some wages. For earning his livelihood he started painting the name plates and used to cut stones for the graves and sometimes he also does the hair cutting.

 

When Alemmongla grew up he decided to go for training at Impal in Manipur. He joined the training center in Impal and learnt only for three months as there was no one from his family side to support him or to sponsor his training so he has to discontinue. But he learnt the basics and his skills got improved and now he does a better job. The nearby villages also came to know that he does a good job and therefore his orders got increased. But this happened not in a months or a year but it took good eight years and meanwhile he started saving some money to buy the right tools and equipments.

 

In a couple of year he somehow managed to buy the tools and one or two equipment to finish the job early and can earn more money, otherwise he has to pay outside which can take a lot of time to finish the job. Alemmongla thought that now it is the time for him to get marry and he got married to Akala and in a due course God blessed them with one son and they named him Merenyapang who is now two years old.

 

Everything was going smooth, he thought he has to save some money to buy some more equipments but he found he was not able to work like before. Later he came to know that his vision is not supporting him to work faster. He wanted to go to a doctor but no doctor was available in his village. If he wants to check his eyes he has to go to the district head quarter i.e. mokokchung district and has to spend money and time. Because of his job pressure and money he neglected and was struggling.

 

The Operation Blessing India conducted a free medical camp in his village, which he came to know and he met the doctor and explained his problem. The doctor examined and sent him for the refraction, with the refraction his vision was corrected by + 1.50 both eyes. He needs a spectacle of +1.50 which was given by the OBI and now the joy has no bond to express because the help has come to his door step. He didn’t even spend any amount in doctor nor to spectacle and within no time things got happened. He praised God and thanked the OBI team for their good works and it was a great blessing to many people in the village.
