Quasim Ali is an industrial laborer who got married to Ruksana and was living a moderate life in what they had. They were blessed with a baby boy Kaseem and of course they were happy to have a child, but they were troubled when they saw him, he was born with a defect- Cleft lip. They consulted the doctor and they told that this can be corrected by a surgery but would cost them a lot which they were not in a position to afford. As a laborer he earns just a mere amount of around Rs.200 every day which was just sufficient for their daily needs and food. Doctors advised to get Kaseem treated as earlier as possible for the defect he was born with.

Since they were not in a position to afford the surgery, they cursed their fate and were feeling very pity for their child as he was not able to drink milk or water normally and whenever he tries to swallow more than half of the liquid would come out, this sight troubled the parents a lot. Four months passed away and one day Kaseem had severe cough and was taken to the doctor for a check up and that’s when the doctor who saw him told Quasim Ali about Operation Blessing India and how OBI helps with the cleft surgeries for the underprivileged. Hearing this, the couple was very delighted it was something they hoped for and within a few days they consulted OBI, where they were guided to the OBI partner hospital and were assured of the needed help. Within couple of day’s time, Kaseem was admitted and was operated. “Now my child looks so complete, thank you OBI for helping us in a very special way”, said Ruksana when she saw her son after the surgery.

Quasim Ali and his wife were happy to see their child Kaseem’s defect being cured and he appears to be normal. They thanked OBI for the help which was extended towards them in making Kaseem looking normal, which other wise would hardly be possible for them.
