Swati is a muslim girl who was warmly welcomed into the Father’s Delight children’s home this year. She had never seen her parents and her grandmother had brought her up and took care of her education. She is now in the eighth standard at school.
Her birthday is on December 24th. She had never celebrated her birthday and little did she expect that it would be celebrated at the Children’s home, especially since it was also Christmas eve and everyone was busy with the Christmas celebrations. But to her surprise, she had one of the best birthdays ever at the home. Everyone at the home felt it was a privilege to get a chance to celebrate Swati’s life and they decided to do all that they can to show her how special she is. Despite the Christmas arrangements, Pastor Arun made sure that Swati gets a good birthday party. So they planned and got going on the arrangements.
The other girls in the home decorated the court yard with many small decorative things, where the party was to be held. Swati was delighted to see the arrangements. Pastor Mohan had come to pray for her and bless her. She also got many small gifts and to add to it the cake came in with all music, which were predominantly carols. The children were so excited that everyone got dancing to the music. The joy that radiated on Swati’s face as she cut the cake and received her gifts was the brightest light in the room. She smiled open heartedly and there was no trace of loneliness on her face. Everything about her said that she was happy.
Since the day she was admitted no one had come to meet Swati, not even her grandmother came to see how she was. But supported by the love and friendships she is surrounded with at the home, Swati is making the most of her life. She is a clever girl and is good in studies. She also reads the bible every day. She memorized verses of the scriptures and spoke 101 verses within 15 minutes in memory verses competition and was awarded the 1st prize.
The people at the home say, “We observed her that she is very special to Jesus and we feel that to us also she is very special. Celebrating her birthday in home has added more joy in her life. We could do this only since the Organizations like CBN-OBI is supporting us and helping us in putting smiles in the hearts and lives of such children of India.”
